History
Founded in 1981, Synapco began as a custom rubber manufacture(compression and injection moulding and rubber mixing).

In 1985 a client request to mould DMC fuse carriages for electrical switchgear was undertaken and this has remained a significant part of the operation.

Further client demand required thermoplastic injection moulding capability, which was added in 1986. The initial emphasis on TPR injection moulding has been expanded to cover most engineering plastics.

Custom moulding continues as the main production focus along with a range of Company product lines.

Location
Synapco Industries is based in Gracefield, Lower Hutt, about 20km from Wellington City, the capital city of New Zealand.

Capabilities
The Company provides a comprehensive range of rubber compression and injection moulding capability - from small to 700 MT clamp presses. Rubber compounding and in-house mixing is also available.

A similar situation exists for the plastic moulding, with a range of injection moulding machines.

Having a history in a wide variety of disciplines, the Company has built up the following areas of expertise:

· Mould design through to end product in rubber, plastic and thermoset.

·  Specialised DMC (BMC) moulding.

·  Engineering plastic moulding.

· Thermoplastic rubber moulding. - All types of vulcanised rubber moulding.

· Rubber to metal bonding.

· Insert moulding (rubber, plastic and DMC)

· Metal pressing/metal forming.
